What is ReZoom?
Cataracts have been treated with lens implants for over 50 years. In fact, more than 14 million cataract procedures using lens implants are successfully performed worldwide every year.
Cataracts cause four main symptoms:
- Reading difficulties
- The challenge of seeing objects up close
- Issues with driving, particularly at night
- Frequent changes in eyeglass prescriptions
Many individuals with cataracts require bifocals or trifocals to see properly. Since wearing these types of glasses may cause constant sight adjustments, many seek other, more permanent solutions for the problem of cataracts. The ReZoom Multifocal Lens offers a brief, pain free surgical procedure that lasts about 45 minutes and allows you to return home within an hour after the procedure is completed.
Although your vision will continue to improve for weeks following the procedure, you’ll see a difference in your vision immediately. Many patients wonder why they waited so long to correct their vision problems after seeing the fast and satisfying results of The ReZoom Multifocal Lens procedure. Studies show that 92% of patients undergoing this procedure have greatly reduced their dependence on wearing glasses for vision correction.
Is the ReZoom Multifocal Lens procedure right for you? The only way to know for sure is to schedule a consultation with board-certified ophthalmologist Dr. Murad Sunalp. During your private, no cost consultation, Dr. Sunalp will answer your questions thoroughly and discuss all of your treatment options.
Together, you’ll devise the best treatment plan for you. If your vision is not what it used to be, and the quality of your life is being affected, don’t wait any longer to get help. Please contact us at Dr. Sunalp’s Tulare, California office today.

Will I have to wear glasses after LASIK?
Since presbyopia is an age-related condition that cannot be fully corrected by LASIK, monovision is used to correct one eye for better near vision and the other eye for improved far vision. Monovision through LASIK offers sharper, longer lasting results than can be achieved through contact lenses. While monovision may eliminate your need for reading glasses, decreased depth perception is one of the drawbacks, making the surgery unsuitable for some patients.
If you are 40 years old or older, and do not choose monovision, glasses may be required, particularly when driving at night. If LASIK does not provide your best vision, you may need glasses or contact lenses.
In most cases, 20/20 vision can be achieved. However, each case is individual and depends upon several factors, such as:
- How well you heal
- The degree of correction that must be achieved
- The health of your eyes at the time of your procedure
Having realistic expectations about your final surgical results will ensure your satisfaction with the procedure. Your consultation with Dr. Murad Sunalp, serving Tulare, California, is your best opportunity to ask questions.

How will Eyelid Surgery Improve My Vision?
‘Blepharoplasty’ is the medical term for a commonly recognized cosmetic surgery most of us call eyelid surgery. But did you know that blepharoplasty has medical benefits for the patient as well?
As we age, our skin loses elasticity and begins to sag. For some of us, this sagging is pronounced around our eyes, particularly with our eyelids, interfering with normal vision and making eyelid surgery a medical necessity rather than an elective cosmetic procedure.
Blepharoplasty is indicated for treatment of these conditions:
- Hooding, a condition in which the eyelid droops over the eyelashes
- Puffiness of the eyelid that interferes with vision
- Excess Skin
- Sagging Skin
Blepharoplasty is performed on an outpatient basis, generally taking 2-3 hours to complete, and offering patients the chance for a refreshed, renewed and more youthful appearance, along with the eyelid correction that is so medically necessary to solving your vision difficulties.
When choosing a physician to perform this procedure, always choose a board certified ophthalmologist who offers the latest technology. Choosing a surgeon with an excellent reputation and high level of training and experience ensures the best, most long lasting results.
In the Tulare, California area, Dr. Murad Sunalp specializes in vision correction including blepharoplasty. Please contact Dr. Sunalp to schedule your private, no cost consultation, where you can learn about all of your enhanced vision options and gain a better understanding of how blepharoplasty can solve your vision problems.

What is Crystalens?
Crystalens is a single-focus cataract replacement lens designed to work with your own eye muscles to restore vision quality. Crystalens uses a revolutionary design, with “hinges” that help the lens move, enabling you to focus on objects both near and far for near perfect vision.
The Crystalens is implanted using standard outpatient cataract surgery procedures safely performed over 65 million times in the US over the last 25 years. The procedure takes about twenty minutes and is pain-free. Implants are placed only in the eye that has developed cataracts. If both of your eyes have developed cataracts, the eye that has developed the poorest vision receives the first implant. Typically, a two to three week waiting period occurs before receiving the second implant, but this may vary.
Crystalens offers several distinctive advantages over corrective lenses and other types of implants including:
- A full range of vision not possible with a single vision lens implant
- Elimination of the need for corrective lenses. Single vision lens implant patients require glasses for middle and near vision.
- Sharper vision for objects at varying distances using your natural eye muscles
One feature truly appreciated by Crystalens patients is improvement in middle vision. If you’ve ever held a newspaper at arm’s length for better focus, you’ll be pleased to know this problem is greatly reduced or even eliminated.
For individuals whose vision has been corrected with bifocal or trifocal glasses, the annoying need to tilt your head for best vision correction is also eliminated.
To find out if you are a candidate for Crystalens replacement lenses, contact Sunalp Laser Vision to schedule a private, no cost consultation.

Conductive Keratoplasty Technology
As our eyes age, they lose the ability to focus on objects at varying distances. While corrective lenses and contact lenses are an acceptable treatment for some patients, surgical advancements for hyperopia and presbyopia offer longer lasting results and sharper vision, making Conductive Keratoplasty (CK) a popular, FDA approved vision treatment.
Using radio waves instead of lasers, CK improves the quality of your vision by gently reshaping your cornea for better focus on near, middle and far objects. CK is a wonderful treatment alternative for individuals over 40 who suffer from hyperopia or presbyopia who may not be good candidates for LASIK.
Hyperopia and presbyopia are medical terms for farsightedness and nearsightedness. Hyper¬opia causes blurry, distorted vision because the cornea is too flat in comparison to eye length. Individuals with hyperopia see poorly at a distance and close up. Presbyopia results as eye muscles lose elasticity with age, gradually losing the ability to focus on near objects.
CK offers less risk than other refractive surgeries because it is minimally invasive and requires no mechanical or laser cutting of the tissues of the eye. CK is a fast and affordable treatment for the correction of farsightedness.
If you’re over 40 years of age and have noticed a change in your eyesight or your ability to focus, a comprehensive eye examination with a board certified ophthalmologist is your first step in solving your vision problems. Please contact the caring, friendly office of Dr. Sunalp and Sunalp Laser Vision, serving Tulare, California to schedule your private consultation.

Benefits of LASIK
LASIK surgery is a popular procedure that has become very common for correcting numerous vision flaws. Patients undergoing LASIK surgery often say they wish they had undergone the procedure much sooner, as the benefits are many.
How can you benefit from LASIK?
The top three improvements you can expect with LASIK are:
- Immediate correction of your vision problems
LASIK surgery corrects your vision immediately. Although your best vision may continue to develop for six months following the procedure, most patients achieve almost perfect vision right away. - Reduced or eliminated need for corrective lenses
Imagine never needing to wear glasses or contact lenses again! This benefit alone is important enough for most patients to undergo the LASIK procedure, since the cost of corrective lenses, the frustration of wearing glasses or contacts, and the social embarassment some experience are good reasons to pursue vision correction. Amazingly clear vision and less hassles over your vision can truly improve your life. - Greater opportunities for social and career advancement
LASIK patients report enjoying life more when there is no need to worry about glasses or contact lenses. Traveling, active sports like skydiving, cycling, running or simply going to the beach are all more fun when you don’t have to remember to bring ‘backup’ glasses or contacts, or worry about your vision correction. You’ll feel more confident too, when you don’t have to hide behind your glasses, or strain to see when wearing glasses or contacts is not an option.
Additionally, near-perfect vision that does not rely on glasses or contact lenses can qualify LASIK patients for participation in many career fields, such as law enforcement and aviation. This allows many LASIK patients to pursue dreams and goals not possible before LASIK vision correction.
If you’re allowing poor vision and dependence on glasses or contacts to cloud your vision of the future, why not contact Dr. Sunalp today to find out if LASIK is right for you?
