Making Eye Contact
- On 3/13/2008 one of our patients came in for LASIK. I was getting him prepared for surgery when I asked what was the his numer one reason for getting LASIK. The patient explained that he wanted to increase his communication skills. He said that he did not have any success wearing contacts, and that he hated, and would not wear glasses. I returned to the communications topic and asked how LASIK would help him communicate. The patient said that he was unable to look at people, focus, and make eye contact. Everyone was merely a blur.
- The day after LASIK, he came in and was so happy. He told me that this is the first time he was able to really see the people he was talking to. "I have never been able to see details so clearly!" he said. It brings a wonderfull feeling, being able to offer our patients such happiness and satisfaction.
